We are Leaving!

Just thought I would update before the move. It has been beyond crazy and I am not really looking forward to unpacking all these boxes. I feel as if there is still so much to do! The movers are picking up our stuff today and we will head out to my parents' to say goodbye to Katie, Steve, Charlie & Patricia. I have a heavy heart as I say that. I am so used to seeing my sister all the time. As the move approaches, so does my apprehension. I know it is a great thing, but I still have my ups and downs.

Here are a few photos. Here is Preston at his talent show. Notice when the pinata was being filled up how full of glee he was, but once the show started my little cowboy stood to the side with his friend Chase.
Aunt Melski came over on Saturday to say goodbye. I lived across the street from Mel almost my entire life, we went to the same college, we worked at the same law firms and now I will not see her until Preston's Birthday. That is also very strange for me. Preston had fun with Aunt Mel and played with all his blocks. Preston also got a haircut. His hair stylist is very concerned that a new stylist will not cut his hair correctly and he'll end up with a bowl cut. I cannot believe I have to find a new hair salon. Twenty three years at the same place!
Sunday we went to my Grandma's to say goodbye. After a long day of packing Preston went "camping." He would just not settle down. After one hour I came up to check on him and I swear this is how I found him!
See you in Virginia!

That last picture is a riot! He's always up to something funny even in his sleep!

I started tearing up when you wrote about tonight. I think it's going to be a mucusfest for me tonight. I just have a feeling there will be a lot of crying! I've been telling Steve how much it's going to suck not seeing everyone on weekends. I think I might start bawling now!

But in happy news, I picked out my flights for the next three months! Yay! I'm stoked to see the house when it's all settled in by Sept. 19th!

I love you big sis!

Oh, I'm so sad for you and happy at the same time! How far is New York from Virginia? When is Preston's birthday? Sorry with the 20 questions! It is so scary moving to a new place, but I know with your personality and Preston's charm you two will do just great! Keep us updated and don't let too much time pass before you can update us all again. :)

Just stopping by to say hi and introduce myself.

Hey, I know the move will be very stressful. You're right one of the hardest things about moving is finding all of the great local places - such as for a haircut, the best bagel, drycleaners and the best coffee. That's not even mentioning all of the drs., etc.. Try to take it one step at a time - which sounds like you're doing - and you guys will be fine! Preston's such a trooper - he'll adjust in no time. It's just us adults that take longer. : )

Looking forward to reading about your new adventures in Richmond! Also, Preston is adorable as always. I could just eat him up!

Kim!
For some reason I feel the sadness of you moving! It's silly since we have never met face to face ... and it doesn't make any difference to me if you are in New York or Virginia ... You'll still blog. I don't deal well with change either - but I know you and Preston will do great. Preston is so darn cute and happy - and your personality comes through in your hilarious post's. Good Luck and I can't wait to hear how the move goes!

Kim and Preston,
I wish you both the best of luck in Virginia - we will definitely have to come down and visit!!! I would have loved to see you before you left, I know you were running around crazy...
I still can't believe the move is actually happening - I know we can go for a while without talking, and i was quite surprised to find out thru your blog that is was all happening so fast. I'm going to miss you babe - and even though we didn't see each other as often as we'd have liked when you were in NY, I always think about you and your lil man and you are ALWAYS in my heart!!!!!!
Love, Cheryl (aka GARTH)

When my daughter Anne moved to Florida it was very scary for all of us. But now she's all sett;led in with a new life, a son, a fiance, a great job that she loves and guess what, even a great hair stylist! I'm so glad you will have your parents to support you and Preston through the initial newness. Best wishes and I'll be thinking about you.

Love Preston's hair cut! He is so funny - falling asleep like that! And I hope that Thomas kinda creeps you out, because he does me (sorry, catching up on old posts) - I was actually kinda glad when we switched to DishNetwork and there is no Thomas! Good luck with the move!

Kim, our thoughts are with you and Preston as you make your move. I know that there are happy memories leading up to now in NY, but you'll have so many more happy one's to come in your new home (well, when you more into your own new home), but you know what I mean :). Wishing you safe travels!
