Our First VA Tree

I have mentioned that my dad is totally Clark Griswald when it comes to Christmas. Seriously. One year he rented a cherry picker to put up lights. Like an construction site, full on cherry picker. Like the phone company! I do believe that year Even Melski's dad admitted defeat. I mean really who rents a cherry picker to put up lights? My dad's dream came true this year. I truly believe he built this house specifically to put up a ridiculously large Christmas tree. What do you do when you have twenty foot ceilings? Get a twelve foot tree! How does one decorate said tree-well the cherry picker would have come in handy-but instead we had a ladder. Here is the Raab house tree 2008!

And here are some random photos from the weekend out and about. Notice Preston and my parents near the only tree in Richmond possibly bigger than my dad's-who is already trying to figure out how to get that one on the front lawn next year (hee hee).

And just to prove that my son can be casual and dirty after a long day at school:

Even in his 'relaxed/dirty' look :) You always have the cutest clothes on him and he always has the cutest smile on that cute face!

Wow, that is gorgeous! I have to say, I think even if you had to bring a cherry picker into the house to decorate that, it would have been worth it! Preston must LOVE it!

I was thinking about commenting, but you've got so many already that it would just make your head bigger... I'll just talk more smack on Facebook!

LOL

Oh, and Preston's so cute it's stupid... If Ellen's son hadn't already staked out a claim on Caitlin Cherylle and I'd be talking arranged marriage with you...

:-P

Holy crap! That's one huge tree! And didn't you say your dad is a surgeon? Isn't there a law that surgeons don't get to climb up on high things and do dangerous stuff like put lights on HUGE trees because they might fall off and injure their hands!!! P.S. I probably would have enough ornaments to decorate that tree...sad but true. In my heart our little 6 ft trees are giants and I keep collecting ornaments year after year.
