A Fun Filled Weekend With Aunt Tinka

My sister arrived Friday night for another fun filled weekend. She really wanted to take Preston back to the pumpkin farm so that is where we went. Of course it was the first chilly day in Virginia and I was quite cold on the hay ride. This time we even went on the wagon ride. He was so exhausted he was about five seconds away from passing out on the barrel ride! On Saturday night we had a block party. Preston even sat still and had his face painted. It was the first time I felt a little "weird." I just never noticed being a single mom much in New York because I did not live in the textbook Wisteria Lane neighborhood. Being divorced was not a "big" deal. I felt on Saturday night I was the only person not married, no 2.5 kids, golden retriever, etc. I know it is truly time to start dating and getting myself out there. YIKES! But I did feel a bit better knowing I did not sport a pair of "mom jeans" either. Sunday I did go and try out the hair salon and have become a red head for the winter. I had a great visit with my sister-we even narrowed down the bridesmaid gowns. She wants vintage and I must say the dresses we picked were really different from the traditional weddings I have been in. I cannot wait to try them on. She also dropped the bomb that her and Steve may move to Colorado. I am truly happy for them, but for my own selfish reasons I want her to come to Virginia. (I mean we do have Mattress King LOL)! I know he is ridiculously adorable. Truly puntable as his godmother Mel would so affectionately state! Although I hate posting pictures of myself solo, I wanted to show some of those who begged me to go blond, how boldly I did not listen (sorry, hair is much to healthy). Excuse the bathroom shot, but I just applied lipstick and took a quick pic!

He really is just adorable! I love the pumpkin patch, I wish we could find something like that here!! And I love the red hair! Mine has been dark since the spring and I'm thinking of going lighter again (although it's true--it won't be as healthy with the amount of bleach it would take!)
I'm dreading the colder weather coming here...time to test my hemming abilities!!

Love the red hair! Love it!

It's so hard to have family so far away, but it's not a done deal yet is it? Maybe you have hope.

As usual, Preston is the cutest..absolutely the cutest.

Yay, I love the red hair!! I made an attempt at red, but my hair seems to be having no part of it! I may try again with a darker shade. You are one hot mama! I'd keep it hush hush that you're considering dating again, it might cause a riot...although you'll probably be okay with your dad under the same roof as you when the men start lining up at the door! Love the pics, I was looking forward to hearing about your fun with weekend with Preston's favorite aunt. There is just nothing cuter than him sitting next to that pumpkin!!

Kim!
The pumpkin patch twice in one season? Preston is one lucky boy to have such a fun aunt! Cross your fingers Auntie will realize Colorado is just TOO far away from Preston!
I like the red hair ... and don't think too hard about dating again. Sometimes I think boyfriends/husbands aren't worth the drama! :0) I love your description of the Wisteria Lane neighborhood!

Yes - he is ridiculously adorable!! Great pics, as always!
I love the red hair! I usually go partially red in the winter. As Emily said, I'm sure the southern gentlemen will be lining up at your door!
If your sister does move to Colorado - thank goodness for airplanes!

Yes he is VERY adorable and I seriously hope to make it to New York next year. (Mainly to meet him!) Glad Aunt Tinka had a good visit, so did she get him the ridiculously huge pumpkin? Also, love the red hair!

You know what...you should be damn proud of who you are and what you have accomplished, who cares if you're divorced? ;) You are doing an amazing job with Preston, he is such a cutie!

Could he be any cuter with that hat on????? I also love the red hair, such a great cooler weather color! I just want you to know that I WILL NEVER, EVER, EVER wear mom jeans. If they quit selling low rise jeans, I will be shopping at the thrift stores!

LOVE the red hair! It looks great on you!

Also, I LOVE Preston's hat - it's the cutest I've seen. Looks like you had a great time at the pumpkin patch, again.

You truly are amazing and I admire you. I can't even begin to imagine what life would be like as a single mom. You're AWESOME!!

The red hair is a good choice. I might be inspired to do something with mine now! :-)
Preston is adorable as always. And don't worry about all those couples, I bet half of them will be divorced in 5 years!

Preston fans everywhere, I trust, are pleased that he has had his fill of pumpkins and pumpkin related activities. Notwithstanding, he would probably like other activities, such as apple and/or rasberry picking, which are also fall activities, and we invite the circulation of photos on those activities.

Bathroom shot? That's a MySpace shot! I don't care how bad things get in Wisteria Lane, life's never bad enough to start dating through MySpace! LOL Besides, like Trisha says, men definitely aren't worth the drama. Hahahahahaha...

Love the pics! I'm telling you, don't you go marrying that little boy off to someone else until he's at least MET Caitlin!

Mike- A myspace shot...LOL

You look FAB as a red head!!! I tried burgandy, I need to finish it, but thinking more like blue or something...

Preston is so adorable! I love his hats and sweaters!! Where so you find hats to fit him? Knoah's head is so big, I can never find a cute boy hat without going into the men's department!

"Hall Family" is totally right about the couples five years from now. I felt awful that you felt so out of place on Saturday because honestly, you think all those families are truly happy? At least you know you're an awesome mom and come from a fun family! You have support of your friends and family, never forget that! But Preston getting his face painted...cutest thing ever! I wish you got to see it! *punt*

Your hair looks amazing, Kim! you're one hot mama (literally).

I miss you all so much already. I felt like this weekend went by too fast. At least next time I'll be there for five days and I'll be bringing the Mattress King with me. As for Colorado...Stevo dropped that bomb on me as well. I thought we were going to Minnesota! I guess he's switching schools. But maybe if there are brochures for Virginia schools conviently placed in the attic when he arrives in November, he could be persauded to go there...

PS. If I had a son I'd send him your way for sure! He'd be a lucky man to get you and Preston as a bonus!

Ooh I just love the red. Although I have to say that I am partial to it. I too went red for the winter.

Preston is just to cute. I love the pictures of him on the hayride. He certainly will be a chic magnet.

As always, that Preston is ADORABLE. Always dressed to the nines...I love it. It is finally cooling off some here so Bryan go outside and wear clothes without looking like he will self combust! Glad you didn't go blonde, I love the red..it is perfect for you. We always joke about my mother in law's pants (bless her heart). The first one to wear high waisted or elastic waist jeans is the first one to be officially old. I may be a YaYa, but you gotta draw the line somewhere!

I'm so FAR behind on posts - can't believe I'm this late, but to echo many before - you guys look FABULOUS! Sounds like you're settling in quite well!
